A smile & a scare

This morning was the first day he consistently smiled at me. Each time I touched his nose with mine I got a heart-breaking smile. Of course when I pulled out the phone it didn't quite work but I got this grin when I put him in his bouncer a bit later. However, this very bouncer just hours later gave us quite a scare. He had been in it five minutes and I was in the kitchen 10 feet away when I heard a thud followed by a yowel. We had just washed the cover the day before and put it back on the wire frame but the top part had managed to slip off the wire frame as was not clipped back properly as it hadn't been put on and taken off by the same people. He stopped crying within a few minutes as I was on with the pediatrician who only worried if he was throwing up, crying inconsoably, or sleeping a lot. I said he was a sleepy baby to which she replied to look if he deviates from his normal schedule to which I could only think, he has no schedule but I realized this conversation could go on forever and like most of our calls to them would end in, you can always bring him in if you'd like. The rest of thed ay went well, he was actually very normal and we went to a mom's happy hour at Chez Moi which was very nice.
