Life. Time. Cliches.

While everyone (including myself) feels like the time with a baby/child goes by so quickly my husband is in the other camp. Somewhat jokingly, he things that a million things have happened and anything that happened before the past 2 years seem like 20 years ago. And I while I'm not overall of this mind, overall I see his point but what is boggling my mind is that this is only my son's 2nd December... He's only had one December, One Christmas, one conversion from Fall to Winter in his whole enormous life that I feel has been so packed with exciting new things.

All that being said it's flying by and as my sister just had her 1st and absolutely adorable baby two weeks ago, I again realize I wish I had written more about what is going on in his life and how this affects me. Instead of just seeing advancements we're now hearing them. Soon after 18 months, maybe around September we started hearing a new word everyday. Coffee and oddly Laundry were early favorites but then necklace, baptism not often used words that he picked up and liked saying. Soon after it was counting. I swear one day in October he just counted to Sixteen. I'm not sure I had ever heard him say two numbers in succession then somehow he learned how to nearly count to 20. Another recent favorite is when he things some form of the ABCs and twinkle twinkle in his crib to himself before he falls asleep. Given they're the same musical notes, I actually find this somewhat impressive (much like most other moves he makes) but mainly adorable to the point that I've tried multiple times to record it from outside his door.

We're trudging through the preschool process now. Yesterday, we had a parent interview at the Montessori school by us, then a play visit at our Church with Jack a few hours later and this morning we had a tour at another so we're fully in the swing of the craziness that is NYC preschool. It's really not fun, but more and more I see the benefit it would bring him (and hopefully us!) so fingers are crossed. I think I'll have to look back and laugh on this but in case I can't I'll remind myself that we talked about moving apartments to be closer to wherever he ends up, so hopefully that'll pull a chuckle in the future.
