More Flight travel to be in our future

Last Sunday we had our first flight down to Florida to visit my parents. Despite losing a checked bag fora few days all went very well. I was a bit nervous to fly alone but the baby was great on the flight. We got to the airport early and security was less than ideal but could have been worse. I have a theory that Jack is well behaved in times like this when "I need" him to be and will be a bit more fussy say 15 minutes later when we had time to kill at the gate. This theory was supported by his falling asleep 15 minutes before boarding then waking up during the taxi to nurse and falling asleep again during our ascent. I woke him a little earlier than needed on our descent but it was longer than I had expected so we had a few fussy minutes here and there before a successful landing, all & all - no complaints. my biggest fear was they would lose the gate checked car seat but we got lucky. While Florida was gorgeous and warm, I somehow didn't have quite the free time I had ambitiously envisioned. I was also a bit crazy about keeping him out of the sun which was incredibly difficult so the relaxing wasn't quite the same but his Dad arrived Friday night and it was very special to do our first dip in the pool & walk on the beach together as a family then of course flying back together Sunday evening was a cake walk in comparison to the week before - even got our money's worth at the delta lounge :)
